    The moulding gouge is a versatile tool for woodturners. It is ideal for creating profiles and chamfers in longitudinal wood. However, thanks to its fingernail-shaped cutting edge with long flanks, it can also be used to work on cross-grain wood. This tool can be used to make items such as chair legs, stair risers or spinning tops. Thanks to the fingernail-style grind, the cutting edge of the tool has a small radius, and the flanks are ground evenly and well back. The bevel angle of the cutting edge is between 35° and 45°, which ensures a high degree of sharpness and allows the tool to penetrate deeply into profiles. The ground-back flanks reduce the risk of the tool catching in the wood when turning, for example, a round rod or a moulding. Narrower moulding tubes are designed for finer shapes and contours. For this purpose, we offer the 12 mm moulding tube.
